COB LED light strips are usually designed to be used with low voltage (e.g. 12V or 24V) as connecting directly to 220V AC power can be a safety hazard, leading to overheating, burnout or electrical accidents. In order to safely use 220V AC power, COB LED light bars need to be equipped with an adapter or driver that converts the 220V voltage to the lower voltage required by the light bar.

Therefore, it is not recommended or possible to connect COB LED strips directly to 220V power. The correct approach is to use a constant current power supply (driver) that matches the rated voltage of the strip, which ensures that the fixtures work properly and are safe to use .
